The Creighton Model Fertility Care System
Developed in the 1980s by OB/Gyn Dr. Thomas Hilgers, the Creighton Model Fertility Care System is a comprehensive method for tracking a woman’s fertility by objectively classifying her cervical mucus throughout her cycle. Each day, a woman observes her cervical mucus for specific signs and then classifies the day as a fertile or infertile day. By keeping a chart of these observations, couples are able to know the best times of the cycle to either avoid or achieve pregnancy and can apply simple rules based on these observations. In addition, this serves as a means of monitoring and maintaining reproductive and gynecologic health for women. The Creighton Model also includes NaPro Technology, a science which assists couples struggling with infertility. Backed by over 30 years of research, this technology works to identify the problem and then cooperate with the menstrual and fertility cycles to naturally correct the condition, maintain the human ecology, and sustain the procreative potential.
